The annual conference for the Society of U.S. Intellectual History is a week away! The line-up of panels and scholars is absolutely stellar! A huge thank you to our conference co-chairs, Jennifer Ratner-Rosenhagen and Daniel Hummel for the work they have done–coordinating the proposals, managing their committee, and negotiating with multiple venues and parties. The society is also grateful to our treasurer, Sarah Payne, for the constant work she has put into finalizing contracts and pivoting when problems emerged; frankly she is the backbone of this operation.
The president’s lunch this year will be led by Sarah Payne. I will be in NYC at a Teagle Foundation event, trying to advance general education at my campus in a time of yet another crisis. This is the first annual conference I have missed since 2010.
The annual business meeting will be held on November 17, and all members in good standing will receive an email from our secretary Sarah Bridger with a link to the virtual meeting. I look forward to catching up with folks at that meeting and at conferences in the near future.
