Greetings, historians!
S-USIH is proud to continue to host 1-2 sessions at the Organization of American Historians’ next annual meeting to be held in San Francisco from April 1-4, 2027. All active S-USIH members are encouraged to propose a panel or roundtable for OAH 2027.
Send submissions to Lauren Lassabe Shepherd ([email protected]) by Friday, April 3, 2026 in a single PDF or Word document. To be considered for the S-USIH reserved panels, please do not submit directly to the OAH as the submissions process is unique.
Proposals should include:
- Type (panel or roundtable)
- Panels: include a panel title, 300-word panel abstract, titles for each paper, 100 word abstract for each paper, and participants’ names and roles
- Roundtables: include a roundtable title, 300-word panel abstract, participants’ names and roles
- Participants’ emails and institutional affiliations (if any)
- A biography of 200 words for each participant
Regarding A/V requests, the OAH writes: “The OAH has had to cut back on the use of AV due to increased costs. This will be especially true in Chicago where union fees add an additional strain. AV equipment will only be provided in select rooms for sessions that specifically request it. OAH will not be able to provide AV beyond audio amplification for affiliate special events such as luncheons, receptions, or special sessions. We apologize for this inconvenience.”
Please note that a participant can appear only once on the program. If you have already submitted a proposal to the OAH, do not submit a panel to this S-USIH call. Thank you, and we look forward to reading your proposals.
