CFP: S-USIH Panels at 2021 OAH Conference

As in past years, the Organization of American Historians has offered S-USIH two panels at next year’s meeting in Chicago, IL., April 15-18, 2021. We seek completed panel proposals that address (broadly speaking) the OAH’s conference “Pathways to Democracy.”

Please send proposals to the review committee (see below) by April 15, 2020. We will notify session organizers of our decisions by May 10th and submit the sponsored panels to the OAH on or before June 1, 2020. Please note that a participant can appear only once on the program. If you have already submitted a proposal to the OAH, do not submit a panel to us.

Per OAH guidelines, proposals should include the information outlined below:

Submission Procedure
Complete session proposals include a chair, participants, and, if applicable, a commentator (chairs may double as commentators, and commentators may be omitted if the audience is to serve in that role). The Program Committee encourages alternative formats that maximize audience participation, such as sessions with no formal comment.

All proposals must include the following information:
• a complete mailing address, e-mail address, phone number, and affiliation for each participant
• an abstract of no more than 500 words for the session as a whole
• a prospectus of no more than 250 words for each paper presentation – this only applies to paper sessions
• a biography of no more than 500 words for each participant

Repeat Participation
OAH policy prohibits individuals from participating in two consecutive annual meetings in the same role and limits individuals to appearing only once on the program in a given year. If you have questions about this policy, e-mail the OAH.
