Hello, historians! As we explore exciting virtual programming for our #USIH2020 annual meeting, we’re eager to stay connected with our scholarly community. We’re expanding our volunteer ranks to include a Social Media Coordinator to help us do just that on Facebook, Twitter, and beyond. Interested? Read on for details. Then send us your C.V. and a cover letter outlining your skills and ideas for this all-new S-USIH post by 15 December 2020 to: [email protected].
The Social Media Coordinator will create engaging, dynamic, and reliable copy that promotes the scholars and scholarship of S-USIH across multiple platforms, in a timely fashion. Specifically, the Social Media Coordinator maintains and develops the Society’s Facebook and Twitter accounts, and explores other new media outlets on the Society’s behalf. They will demonstrate an ability to write for various audiences and technologies, while operating within the social media guidelines set forth by USIH governance. Partnering with USIH leadership, the Social Media Coordinator will also take the lead in recommending initiatives to spark public interest in the Society’s activities. For the right individual, the possibility exists to become involved in our audio and video productions. This is a two-year position, reporting to the S-USIH Secretary. As with the S-USIH book review staff, the Social Media Coordinator will be reviewed by the Executive Committee after one year.
