Book Review

Assistant Book Review Editors Wanted

The book reviews section of the Society of U.S. Intellectual Historians’ blog has, for years, provided plenty of intellectual ferment and discussion. We strive to continue doing so throughout 2020, but we need your help to streamline our book reviews process. Therefore, I am pleased to announce that we are searching for two assistant book reviews editors, to help strengthen this section of our blog. This will only help the Society grow and prosper for the months and years to come.

The roles of assistant book review editors will be as follows: soliciting new book reviewers for our blog; working to send books out to reviewers in timely fashion; and informing presses of posting of reviews. All of these elements are critical parts of book reviews at the moment, and assistant editors will be able to streamline the process—making it faster for everyone involved. The addition of assistant editors will also allow for the faster release of book reviews. Currently, our division of the blog has the goal of a book review every week, posted on Sundays. This will allow us to stick to that goal, and to craft more ambitious book review posting schedules in the future.

If you are interested in joining us as an assistant book reviews editor, please email me, Robert Greene II, Book Reviews editor, at [email protected]. Send your most up-to-date CV, along with a brief statement (between 250 to 500 words) about why you’re interested in joining the book reviews team. The CV and statement will be due by February 29, 2020. We look forward to hearing from you then!
