A belated happy birthday to the Society for U.S. Intellectual History, which sponsors this blog and which just completed its first year of existence. On May 31, the inaugural Executive Committee completed its term. Thanks to outgoing President Andrew Hartman, outgoing Treasurer Mike O’Connor, and (semi-) outgoing 2012 Conference Chair David Sehat.* I’ve also completed my term as Publications Chair.
Ray Haberski will continue as Secretary and has been joined by President Paul Murphy (one of the founders of this blog and our conference), Treasurer Lisa Szefel, Publications Chair Tim Lacy, and 2013 Conference Chair Allison Perlman. Congratulations to them all!
Until we put the finishing touches on a dedicated S-USIH website, this blog will remain the online home to communications from the Society. Over on our S-USIH page, I’ve added a link to the 2011-2012 Executive Committee’s Final Report. It provides a nice update on what we’ve accomplished so far and what we hope to do in the future. Comments, especially from Society members, are of course welcomed!
